Session B Week 1 just ended and things are going great! My campers have been making some really awesome pieces - mostly beads and sun-catchers for now. Check out the downloadable file below to see the most recent Camp Highlander BLT (the camp's newsletter). I wrote the first article ("Glass in the Bead Shack") and included some pictures of my campers and their glass work. I've also started working on beads that I'll be donating to Beads of Courage (www.beadsofcourage.org). Beads of Courage is an arts-in-medicine program that supports children coping with serious illness and encourages them to use beads as meaningful symbols of courage to commemorate milestones they've achieved throughout their treatment. There are other ways to donate and get involved as well, check out how you can help by CLICKING HERE!

Hey guys! I'm in North Carolina for the summer, working at Camp Highlander as a Glass Instructor. My brother, sister, and I used to go to camp here, so it's really cool being able to come back and teach what I love! This is the first year that the camp has had a glass program, and I was the one who suggested they start one! I'll have limited access to the internet while I'm here, but I'll still be checking in on occasion.
I won't be able to accept any custom orders until I'm back home in August, but feel free to place an order from the Shop - my sister will be taking care of shipping orders and they will still be shipped in a timely manner. Have a great summer! |
