Class Descriptions
8 Week Hot Shop at JU
Eight weeks, one day a week you will have the opportunity under the instruction of Bryan to learn how to blow glass. Using the Jacksonville University Hot Shop Studio, you will learn the basics of glass blowing. It is set up as a learn at your own pace class. The more you want to learn the more you will learn. The class schedule is as follows:
Class 1 - Sept. 5 - Oct. 24 7pm-10pmClass 2 - Sept. 8 - Oct. 27 9am-12pm
Class 3 - Sept. 8 - Oct. 27 1pm-4pm
Cost per person is only $400.00!!

1-Day Flameworking
You will learn: How the equipment works: tanks, torch, tools, etc. How the glass moves and basic ways to manipulate it. You will be able to create a couple finished pendants to take home, unless it's not cool in time, in which case it will be mailed to you, or ready for pick up the next day Approx. 3 hour session. $150.00 |
2-Day Flameworking
You will do everything in the 1-Day Flameworking class and then continue on the second day learning: A review of the first day's work. Learning color techniques. How to make a marble or other solid worked glass objects. How to heat the glass evenly off a tube. Practicing the steps of making a pendant. You will be able to create finished marbles or pendants to take home, unless it's not cool in time, in which case it will be mailed to you, or ready for pick up the next day. Approx. 3 hours per day, for 2 days. $250.00 |
